Tonsil Cancer-Manage Your Life After Diagnosis
72Tonsil Cancer - the new trend
Drive your Life
I am in treatment recovery for Tonsil Cancer. There. Whew- I'm glad that is out of the way. I have had other posts about what a positive opportunity the diagnosis of Cancer has had on my life. Weird.
For sure, it definitely has also had a negative impact. That cannot be ignored, but unfortunately- that is the only part most people dwell on.
There is another part. The part you can control. It isn't outside, it is inside. You can't see it. You feel it.
"Can't Change It"
A friend of mine, Hal Elrod, has written a book - "Can't Change It" - regarding taking charge of what you CAN change, let go of the part you can't change and exert all your skills, passion and resources on the parts of your life you CAN control and change.
The Road Less Traveled
Robert Frost said it best:
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Choose How You React
We are often guided by the thought that we have the power to change everything or achieve anything. Not True. Difficult as it is to do- we do have the power to control how we choose to react to the things and circumstances we can't control. Most of us would be uniquely surprised to discover how much control we have do have. Kind of like "get out of the back seat of your own life and get behind the wheel."
It rains, the street has potholes, the lights turn red, jaywalkers appear for no apparent reason, traffic is slow, YOU mismanaged your time and now you are running late, stuff happens while you are driving. It is bad enough that it occurs (can't change it)- but to sit in the back seat of your own car and let it happen is worse.
Drive Your Life
Drive your car- drive your life. If nothing else- you "FEEL" like you are in control. Drive around the upcoming potholes- now that you can see and recognize them. Pull over - relax - let the rain pass and traffic dissipate. Feel empathy for the jaywalker: you are in a nice dry, warm car with a stereo - they are outside,in the elements, cold, wet, and clueless.
Take a different route - and change your attitude.
Take control.
Drive your life.

The only "why" I've been made privy to so far is that if we had not experienced what we did, we could not reach out to others who are walking the same path. If we can do that with the courage and determination with which you do, then none of it was in vain.

We have to be grateful for that. happy and sad, healthy and sick. God give kind of those thing with other purpose. We are more patient and better know the meaning of life. I agree with you that anything is a gift including cancer. We have to pray a lot. I hope the best for you. My pray also for you. Thanks
